Ever wonder what being an elected official is like? Find out at a conversation with a Columbia alum who is one!

For CAA Seattle’s next online mixer, we invite you to join us for a briefing by Columbia alum and Burien City Council member, Kevin Schilling. Kevin is a native Washingtonian who received a dual MA/MSc from Columbia and LSE in 2019. He returned to Washington and was elected to his position later that year. He will address topics such as:

• What motivated him to get involved in local/state politics
• What pathways are available to elective office for Columbia grads

Kevin will speak and respond to questions for about 30 minutes. Then we’ll break into groups of 3-5 using Zoom's breakout rooms for mixing and discussion. Total time for the event will be one hour.
